ANIRVAN AKASH - Sky Enlightenment Of Inner Yoga - Live Within

A Plea for United India

It is the partition of India, which is at the very root of most of the problems we face today. The troubles In Punjub or Assam, in Nagaland or Mizoram all are connected directly or indirectly with the partition. It has not only divided us, it also weakened us, crippled us. If has not only divided us, I also be solving of our problems overnight. But is it possible?

We had a great hope when Bangladesh emerged as free secular State. Her   freedom could have been impossible without al round help from India. We had heralded it as a first step towards United India .We had hoped that Bangladesh will work hand in hand with India and a new spirit of brotherhood and mutual cooperation will heal the wounds of partition and help to spread the spirit even to Pakistan

There is every reason for hoping that Bharat & Bangladesh will evolve a new pattern of harmony in international relation, Here mutual understanding and cooperation will be the guiding factor and not race for supremacy. Our next move should be to persuade Pakistan to join us in our efforts to begin a new chapter in the history of our subcontinent. Let us hope that the leaders and the people of Pakistan will learn the lessons of history and accept the reality of Bangladesh in a spirit of true brotherhood……….Instead of continuing to harbour malice and will towards Bharat and Bangladesh et Pakistan see facts as facts ………and come back to the mother fold to which she belongs, with a new dignity and status i.e. as an independent equal partner in a federation of brotherhood of nations. The return of the prodigal which is sure to happen one day the sooner it happens the better for all of us- will be hailed as far more Joyous and event than even the emergence of Bangladesh. It will bury for all time to come the bitterness and hatred that the two nations and nurturing in their rising generations since independence.

But all this was a cry in wilderness. To ask Pakistan, to come back to the mother hold was an “Impossible Dream.” Even Bangladesh with whom there were all the possibilities of a closer connection drifted away and began to fraternize with whom here were all possibilities of a closer connection drifted away and began fraternize with other countries which do not like India to grow into a great nation .Within a  short period of  twelve years she left her newly acquired secularism and went  back to the narrow and fanatic religious grooves. Once again she has become an Islamic state! And thus India remains divided in three parts – truncated India –i.e. Bharat flanked by two Islamic states suspicious of one another and becoming easy prey to super powers in their game of power politics.

It seems now certain that these divisions of our motherland can never go ,we can never be united again till the muslims, who opted for partition, come out of their narrow religious dogmas. One of the Bengali muslim ,leaders said at the time of the liberation of Bangladesh.”There is no hesitation on our part to confess that no body could have divided India, if we the muslims of Bengal would not have asked for it. We are solely responsible for the division of India .We are now atoning for the sin boy giving our blood”. Alas, the leaders who are ruling Bangladesh today no more feel the same!

Unless there is a strong inner cultural affinity , a country cannot remain united except by force. A deep feeling of belonging to the motherland, her history and culture must grow in all the people of the nation. It is a fact and let us tell it frankly without mincing words that the muslims have never accepted he Indian culture totally. They have always considered themselves superior to others. Their attitude towards Hindus or Buddhists or Jains is the same today as I was when they came as invaders in the 8h,10th or12th centuries.Within their inner being they still maintain that old arrogance. They still consider it their birth right to convert others –Kaffir as they call them- to Islam by force or by favour .When it is no possible to do so, they lie low waiting for a favourable opportunity. We  have witnessed this recently in Meenaskshipuram and other places. Even in this Twentieth century they have not given up their dream of converting India into  Darul –islam .

If united Bengal or united India is to be established the first condition is that the muslims( We do not speak here of the general muslim ,masses but the leaders- the mullahs and he intellectuals who were the back bone of the Muslim league policies and who are still very much active even in todays truncated India) must totally change their attitude towards Hindus and people of other faiths. It should be now very clear to every one and it should be taught to every child that the narrow sectarian ideas of religion are false and spring of Ignorance.”Religion (in its narrow sense) has served its purpose in human history and the time has come to transcend it……India has been  made the crucible for the fusion of all religions into a spiritual brotherhood. Our saints and savants have ably carried forward the task and our common people too have followed that to a large extent. Kabir, nanak and Chaitanya, the great Akar and Darashikoh and the prophets of the great Indian Renaissance  starting from Raja Ram mohan Roy all preached the same message of universal Harmony and Brotherhood, deprecating narrow religious differences of Achar and Anushthan.” – This was the call of Sanatan Dharma all along in the history of India . Islam and Christinity the two most aggressive and missionary religions of the world must understand this message of Sanatan Dharma. They must understand that they too are the daughters of the Sanatan Dharma –the total way to God and Integral life, Sanatan  Dharma is the main root – the Urdha Mula- of the Tree of life descending from the Divine. All other religions- from the lowest tribal to the highly philosophical advaitist religions – are but the branches of that one Root sprouted at different times indifferent places according to the necessities and growth of the different peoples, The Lord has suffered till now their good as well as evil deeds. But the time has come now to understand and follow life and Dharma in is total aspect-forgetting all the differences and discords.

In India the difficulty is not with the Hindus – the  major populace  of the country. They already have a religion which accepts this fundamental unity in Diversity. They find no difficulty in accepting Christ or Mohammad as prophets of religions along with their own prophets. Muslims and Christians must join this main stream. They should consider themselves part and parcel of the Total Indian Culture from Vedic time and feel proud about it. They have nothing to fear, nothing to lose.

Once this inner unity of heart is established it will not be difficult for these three parts of Mother India to come together and form a united India, The political form is immaterial It may be a federation  of free and independent states or a united nation of the Indian continent.

Let us conclude with the stirring message of Sri Aurobindo, the prophet of patriotism and Life Divine which he delivered on the eve of our truncated independence with fervent  hope that we the people of Bharat , Bangladesh and Pakistan will strive together to forge of United India so that she may once again rise to great heights and fulfil its rightful destiny in the Community of nations. Sri Aurobindo said, “The old communal divisions into Hindus and Muslims seems now to have hardened into a permanent political division of the country. It is to be hoped this settled fact will not accepted as settled for ever or as anything more that a temporary expedient. For if it lasts, India may be seriously weakened even crippled, Civil strife may remain always possible, possible even a new invasion and foreign conquest. Indias internal development and prosperity may be impeded, her position among the nations weakened , her destiny impaired or even frustrated. This must not be , The partition must go. Let us hope that may come about naturally by and increasing recognition of the necessity not only of peace and concord but of common action, by the practice of common action and the creation of means for that purpose. In this way unity may finally come about under whatever form- the exact form may have a pragmatic but not a fundamental importance. But by whatever means , in whatever way, the division must go. Unity must and will be achieved, for it is necessary for the greatness of Indias future.

N.B. The article was written in 1985 but its appeal still holds good and will remain so till we are united again,

RABINDRA SANGEET - JE RAATE MOR DUAAR GULI

RABINDRA SANGEET

-Je Raate Mor Duaar Guli
This song gives the extraordinary feeling of the capacity of Sri Anirvan to arrive at the very moment of emergency when he was needed. How he just appeared there, was a miracle.

That night when my doors were smashed by the storm, I did not know it was you who had entered my house. All around everything went black, the wick of the lamp was extinguished.
I stretched out my arms to reach the sky, towards hope..
I did not know it was you who had entered my house,
That night when my doors were smashed by the storm.
I lay there sobbing, thinking it all a dream,
How could I know that the storm was a pennant of your triumph?
Morning dawned, and I beheld you,
A fountain of tears, you, yourself.
The whole house, save for ourselves, was and had been empty.
I did not know it was you who had entered my house,
That night when my doors were smashed by the storm.

Art thou abroad on this stormy night
On thy journey of love, my friend?
The sky groans like one in despair.
I have no sleep tonight.
Ever and again I open my door and look out on the darkness, my friend!
I can see nothing before me.
I wonder where lies thy path!
By what dim shore of the ink-black river,
By what far edge of the frowning forest,
Through what mazy depth of gloom art thou threading thy course to come to me, my friend?

- "I am thinking how so to fix the attention so it can be unwavering- never turns aside- Oh! What great a job-"

My interest in Sri Anirvan continues with greater intensity these days. I have read almost all the valuable translations of his writings appearing in the blogs.

Unfortunately I do not know any Bengali although ambitiously I got many of his writings from the Dharampal's when I met them some years ago.

request: it seems Sri Aniravan used to give regular talks on Sri Aurobindo's Savitri in the Pathmandir. It would be a great service if someone could translate these talks since Anirvan's insight would help clarify many aspects of Savitri.

Thanks again and best regards

Sharat Kumar Bhushan Di' I do not know why these lines by Hammarskjold are coming to my mind after reading your comment.

"Night! The road stretches ahead.Behind me it winds up in curves towards the house,a gleam in the darkness under the dense trees of the park.I know that, shrouded in the dark out there, people are moving, that all around me,hidden by the night, life is a quiver.I know that something is waiting for me in the house.Out of the darkness of the park comes the call of solitary bird:and I go-up there

BY SUBHASHISH BORAH

- We should be proud of what we are, and we should not be dejected at what we are not as we desire. We should be proud of what we are not that we didn't wish for.

But the horror is that we are starting to be proud of what we are not that we desire to be!

The philosophy is that if you are X, be proud of being X, and don't be dejected because you are not the most fortunate one of the world you may have a dormant desire to be so. And be proud for you are not the most unfortunate person in the world and you didn't, don't and will never desire to be so.

But don't be proud of your vain self-images, just be proud of what you are and realize it with optimum firmness. There is a difference between "Will" and "hope". Suppose you want to be something or somebody in this life time. You cannot become that, if you are not at this very moment not that something or somebody you want to realize. This should be dormant within you waiting just for expression or manifestation. When proper time, environment and other supportive factors will be available to you, and if you have the necessary will to be so, you will one day appear as such.

Let's be our realities, not our imaginations! Let's be free from our inner insecurities! And here I intentionally use the word to be 'proud' in place of simply to 'accept' oneself, because the fact of 'Will' cannot properly manifest through a meek humbleness or moral humility.."

We have been oblivious of feeling strange at anything...

This sense of wonder I believe is the real essnce of all creativity not only poetry or other art forms but science, mathematics , physics, chemistry, biology etc everything...

It impels us to discover things"

Anirban NAMASTE,

"To all the members in this GROUP"

It's really a pleasure and an honour for me to be a part of this group.

SRI ANIRVAN - THOU ART THE RULER OF THE humble mind of mine. CANST THOU RULE mine DESTINY, TOO?

My most humble PRONAAMS to GOURI-MASHIMA and GAUTAM-MESHOMASHAI.

I DO PRAY TO THE LORD OF ALL LORDS FOR QUICK RECOVERY OF GOURI-MASHIMA.

OH LORD, I think I am pretty LOUD and CLEAR.

ANIRBAN-AKASH - Is it a confirmation that our desires/DESIRE are(IS) fulfilled?

For though our desires may yet be fulfilled in this very human birth, do we really crave for our DESIRE to be satiated? If so, how do we enjoy THE ETERNAL LILA?

May we be firmly grounded whilst we touch THE AKASH (The SKY).

Best regards,

Anirban

Kalyani Bose Dear Anirban,

I was not being able to come to the site for a very long time. Just today I opened it up to see your page and am inpressed. Are you or do you know Bengali? Of course you are because you have read His books. Your question about enjoying the ETERNAL LILA has evoked in my mind an expression form Sri Chaitanya Mahapravu. The Eternal Lila is like 'Tapta Ikshu Charvan' - Again 'Mukh Jwale NA JAi Tyajan-

Prosanti O prasannataye Ujjal Theko.

May the Grace of Sri Anirvan bring in us the Yuganaddha Dyavaprithivi.
