One of The Greatest Live Ballet Performances Ever Filmed 1964 Kirov Laurencia Soloviev Fedicheva. One of the tragedies about so many stars of the past is that so little was filmed, showing their greatness. In this 1964 live performance from the Kirov Theatre, two of the all time greatest ballet dancers ever, are shown in all their glory. Unquestionably, the greatest male dancer ever to dance for the Kirov Ballet is Yuri Soloviev and all his contemporaries will admit that Nureyev paled in comparison to the God of Dance, Yuri Soloviev. While Baryshnikov was a great dancer, he was a little boy compared to this God, Soloviev, who did play God to Baryshnikov's Adam.. Only the great, Vladimir Vasiliev, can be spoken in the same terms as Yuri Soloviev. Former stars of the Kirov Ballet and ballet critics of that time, will swear that Soloviev was the greatest that they ever saw. In this early 1964 film, Soloviev was 23 years old and an Honored Artist of the USSR, later attaining the highest status for a Soviet Artist, People's Artist of the USSR. Kaleria Fedicheva graduated 3 years earlier than Soloviev and was also an Honored Artist of the USSR in 1964, becoming a People's Artist , 3 years later. Clearly, she was highly regarded in the Soviet Union and this video displays her phenomenal technique, that had very few rivals at that time. Her fouette series was practically unheard of at that time and still very few technicians can equal her now.
This is a Laurencia performance to be remembered forever.

look at a rare ballet rehearsal with Farukh Ruzimatov and Altynai Asylmuratova under the guidance of his coach, Gennnady Selyutsky. We see themr in this rare ballet rehearsal of the ballet 'Try".We see her talking to her husband, Konstantine Zaklinsky, who is talking to Igor Zelensky.
Ruzimatov briefly rehearses Giselle and we see his magnificent Albreacht style and his pheneomenal pirouettes.
I wish a video existed of this performance, but I am 100% certain that this was never filmed.
